Mo's Challenge #211

Anything But a Card!

Cathy is our hostess this week, and she's asked us to make "Anything But a Card"
for Mo's Challenge this week.

It's hard for me to shop due to my disability, so every year at Christmas I give cash to our kids, their spouses, and our grandchildren. It's easy for me, and they love it because they can take advantage of all the after Christmas sales!

Each year I try to come up with a new way to present the money to make it a bit more special. This year I'm making these boxes which will hang on the tree on Christmas morning. I'll make about a dozen or more, and each will be different.

I couldn't get a good photo for some reason...the colors are not true-to-life. He really doesn't look jaundiced as he does here! LOL!

This image is one of three little gift-giving guys which can be bought singly or as a set. There is a girl version, also!

I found the box tutorial on SCS. You can make this into a gift card holder, too!
It measures 3 by 5 inches.

Here's a side view that shows the tab I added for ease in opening.

Tools: Copics, Spica pens, White gel pen, ScorPal, Poinsettia dies, MS Branch punch, Tacky tape

Papers: SU! Green Galore, Neenah white, PTI white, Gingham DP

Embellishments: Narrow ribbon, Tiny brads

Please join us in Mo's Challenge this week with your "Anything But a Card' creation using at least one of Mo's images. You just might win a $5.00 gift certificate to Mo's Digital Pencil!

I always love it when you stop by!

  1. Elaine, I love your little money boxes, so in your house Money does grow on trees :). Super cute idea and great way to present your present. Thanks for creating such a wonderful project for the challenge :)

  2. Love that little box, what a nice size for smaller items and the thought to hang on the tree is great!

  3. What a great idea Elaine, and a great idea for them to go and find theirs on the tree.
    Hugs Mau xx

  4. Wow, what a great idea to hang these on the tree. I think they will love it.

  5. Wonderful way to box up your presents Elaine. You can't go wrong with cash. :-) Hugs!
