Mo's Challenge # 150

One Hundred Fifty Challenges!

Wow! I've been on Mo's Challenge team through 150 challenges, and haven't missed one! Cathy Edgar and I are the only remaining members of the original group. I was thrilled when Mo first asked me, and I still love it today! Her images are just so wonderful and fun to work with...it's so easy to be inspired every week!

This week, Mo's Challenge is called "Lovely Layers".  I've seen cards made with as many as 13 or 14 layers! They're beautiful, but not my style, and they must weigh a ton! My cards usually are not more than five or six layers.

I've used one of the baby fairies from Mo's cute set. They are all adorable!
I've layered the papers, image, flowers, and ribbon on this card.

Images: "3 Baby Fairies" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Digital circle sentiment

Tools: Copics, Spica pen, Cuttlebug with Nesties,  Flower, and Lacy border dies, Circle punch, Fine black marker

Papers: SU! card stock, Neenah white, Digital DP ( I changed the color from pink to lavender.)

Embellishments: Pearl brads, Mini brads, Narrow satin ribbon, Tiny pearl cabochons

Take a few minutes to visit the other DT members. You'll be inspired!
I'll be looking forward to seeing your layered creations!

Thanks for visiting!

Mo's Challenge # 149

Oskar is Distressed!

Distressing is the theme in Mo's Challenge this week. I find distressing to be a little tricky...you have to distress enough so that it looks intentional, but not so much that it looks as if the card has been through the wars! (Ooh! Look how dirty that is!) Sometimes we card-makers forget that the people who get these cards may not know that it was done on purpose! LOL!

I've used "Oskar" for my card 'cause I thought he already looked a bit distressed! I used mostly scraps from my ever-growing pile. Even the sentiment was one I did for another card, but ended up not using. The corrugated cardboard is from some packaging that I saved a while ago. The hanging watch charm is from an assorted package that I bought on sale years ago, and this is the first time I've used one of them! I've always liked the look of acrylic paint on cards and finally got around to trying it. Very messy, but I'll do it again!

Inside: "Happy Birthday...Ready or Not!"

Images: "Introducing Oskar" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Digital sentiment

Tools: Copics, Acrylic paint, Dimensional dots (a lot!), Tacky tape, Distressing tool, SU! Creamy Caramel ink pad (direct to paper technique)

Papers: SU! Kraft, Orange, Artichoke, Pumpkin, Neenah white, The Paper Studio DP, Scraps from Basic Grey and MME

I hope you'll stop in and check out the rest of the team for inspiration, and please join us with your distressed creation for a chance to win a gift certificate from Mo's store.

More Free Images!

I got these great images from Crafts on the Net, and I'm having so much fun with them! As I said last week  there are many on a sheet, and I don't find them easy to print out, but I think they're worth the effort.

I had this digital sentiment, and when I saw this image, I knew it would make a great anniversary card! I realized after I uploaded the photo that one of the tiny blue beads was missing from a flower center. I've since repaired it.

Inside: "Happy Anniversary to the purr-fect pair!"

Another Christmas card! This image is also from Crafts on the Net. I love the digital sentiment...reminds me of Ren and Stimpy! Remember his happy dance? I made the variegated holly by punching out two different sized leaves, gluing them together and embossing them with my Nellie Snellen leaf embossing punch. I trimmed down the larger white leaf. The swirl is an actual SU! stamp from the "Priceless" set.

Inside: "Hope your holidays are filled with big surprises!"

Thanks for stopping by! Check in again. I'll be having another small give-away
in the next week or so!

My First Christmas Card
 2012

Crafts on the Net  is a site that has many sheets of digital images for free, so all of the following cards use images from the various sheets.

This is from one of the Christmas sets. I think this will definitely be a one-of-a-kind....too much fussy coloring for me! I made the poinsettia from two different sizes of leaf punches and some seed beads.
************************************************

The next three are from the fall animal set.

Inside: "Honey, You're still a fox! Happy Anniversary."

Inside: "To celebrate you! Happy Birthday!"

Inside: "Sorry I missed your birthday! Hope it was happy!"
##############################

This is from the monkey set.
Inside: "Your secret is safe with me! Happy Birthday!"

++++++++++++++++++++++

This one is from the spring set.

Inside: "You made me bloomin' happy!"

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

This last one is from the Valentine set. I think it's my favorite of the bunch! I love the flat-backed string of  pearls from WOC! They are so easy to apply.

===============================
Just a word or two about the sheets....it took me a long time to isolate the different images in my card program. I first tried to crop out the desired image, but that didn't work. I had to position the image I'd chosen then 'erase' all the surrounding images. I then saved them so I wouldn't have to bother with that again. I wish I knew how to do it in Gimp! I'm sure it would be easier!

So follow the link at the top to some great images, and have some fun creating!

Thanks for dropping in!

Mo's Challenge # 147

Love is All Around!

That 's the theme for Mo's Challenge this week! I've used Mo's "Father and Daughter" for my card. I made this for our youngest son for his first Father's Day.  His little girl is about three and a half months old now, and we think she's the cutest baby ever!

Her dad's favorite color is orange so that's the color I used on his card.

Images: "Father and Daughter" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Digital tree (?), Sentiment stamp from My Sentiments Exactly

Tools: Copics, MS Grass punch, SU! Triple flower punch

Papers: SU! Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie, Neenah White, Basic Grey DP

Embellishments: Brads, Grosgrain ribbon
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Here's a picture of our little beauty.

Let's see your take on love! Just use one or more of Mo's images on your card or project for a chance to win a gift certificate from Mo's Shop.

I'm always happy to have you stop by!

Mo's Challenge #146

Anything Goes!

I do love these 'non-challenge' challenges once in a while! Just do what ever your heart desires for Mo's Challenge this week!

I used Mo's "Girl with Sign" on my card. It's a great image because the sign is blank for you to include your own message. This card went to a co-worker who left for a new opportunity.
I loved making this...the colors are so pretty!

Image: "Girl with Sign" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Digital sentiment from TLC

Tools: Copics, Cuttlebug with Cheery Lynne Lattice die, Martha Stewart border punch, Flower punches, Nellie Snellen embossing rose leaf punch set, mounting tape

Papers: SU! CS, Neenah white

Embellishments: Grosgrain ribbon, Mini brads, Hat pin with beads

##############################

My daughter-in-law has been asking me for baby girl cards for her shop, so I made this one using  Mo's cute "Kai in a Tub." I guess I've been feeling 'in the pink' lately!

Image: "Kai in the Tub" from Mo's Digital Pencil (the old shop)

Tools: Copics, White gel pen, MS Lacy border punch, Nellie Snellen Rose Leaf punch, Mounting tape

Papers: SU! Pirouette Pink and Confetti White CS, Neenah white, Digital DP by Jak Heath

Embellishments: Satin ribbon, Tiny roses, Pink pearl cabochons, Pearl bead, Pin charm

Now it's your turn! Make something wonderful using one or more of Mo's fantastic images and enter the challenge for a chance to win a gift certificate to her shop!

Thanks for dropping by!
