Mo's Challenge #233

It's All About the Boys!

Our hostess for Mo's Challenge for the next two weeks is our talented Franz! She asked us all to make cards and projects for the birthdays of the boys in our lives. The DT has come up with some fabulous examples! Please check out their incredible work and leave them some love on their blogs.

My card uses one of the sweet little sailors from Mo's "Sailor Boys" set, which includes three boys along with some great accessories for all sorts of design possibilities!

Mo's Challenge #225

Lots of Embellishments!

Our hostess for Mo's Challenge this week is Amanda, who has asked that we use lots of embellishments on our cards and projects. This is one that's difficult for me...I am embellishment challenged for sure! I envy those who can pile on all sorts of do-dads and still have it look phenomenal! When I attempt it, the result looks as if my stash caught a stomach bug and tossed its cookies all over my work!

This card has a lot of embellishments...at least by my standards! A paint chip, rhinestones, pearls,
beads, glass leaves, die-cuts, punched elements, and a satin bow....and you can still see that sweet image!

Tools:  Copics, White gel pen, Cuttlebug with Memory Box vine die, Heart punches,

Papers: SU! Garden Green and Wild Wasabi, Neenah white, Gingham DP

Embellishments: Paint chip, Rhinestones, Pearl cabochons, Beads, Glass leaves, Satin ribbon

It's always fun to hear from you!

Mo's Challenge #203

Boys, Boys, Boys!

Anja is our hostess for Mo's Challenge this week. She's asked that we make cards and projects using Mo's cute images of boys!

I've used one of her newer images, " Victory!" to make a birthday card for one of our sons. The football and field were free downloads I found on Google Images.

(Sorry the photo isn't too clear. I didn't realize it was a fuzzy until after it was on its way to the birthday boy!)

Inside: "Ready to tackle another year? Happy Birthday!"

Images: "Victory!" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Computer-generated sentiment

Tools: Copics, White gel pen, Glue dots

Papers: SU! Real Red and Garden Green, Neenah white

Embellishments: Baker's twine, Metal letters

I think making cards for boys is fun! Hope you do to!

Mo's challenge #191

Fun in the Sun! (NOT!)

I know this doesn't seem to fit the theme for Mo's Challenge this week, but hear me out. I work with 12 and 13 year old kids, and towards the end of school I asked them what they would be doing during their summer vacation. Almost all the boys said they would be playing video games during their time off!
No "Fun in the Sun" for them, I guess!
I love the 'glazed over' look on his face! If you have gamers in your family, you know that look well!
I colored the image first, then found this perfect masculine plaid DP in my stash. I couldn't believe how well it picked up all the colors I had used!

Inside: "Now that I have your attention,  Happy Birthday!"

Image: "Game On" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Computer-generated sentiment

Tools: Copics, Silver metallic pen, Prismacolor pencil, Square punch,  Mounting tape, Tacky tape

Papers: SU! Gable Green, Only Orange, Blue (?), Neenah white, MME DP

Embellishments: Grosgrain ribbon, Natural twine, Buttons

Please join us in Mo's Challenge this week for a chance to win a $5.00 gift certificate to Mo's Digital Pencil. Remember to check out all the Teams' blogs for details on their wonderful creations!

Mo's Images

Cards, Cards, Cards!

I had some time to play the other day and colored up several of Mo's wonderful images!
Here are a few cards I made.

This is a sympathy card for a cousin. This is such a pretty image!
I realized when I saw the photo that two pearls were missing! I fixed it, though.
The subtle shine of the Spica pen I used to highlight the wings and dress don't show
in the photo, but it's very pretty IRL!

Papers: SU! Cool Caribbean, Neenah white, SU! and Wild Asparagus DP

Embellishments: Pearl cabochons, SU! Rose trim

I enjoyed making these, and can't wait until school's out and I have plenty of time to play!

Thanks for looking!

"D" is For.......

I have several cards that fit the theme for this Mo's Challenge this week.

Mo's Challenge #155

Anything Goes With Mo's

That's Mo's Challenge this week! So easy...I love it!

I used the opportunity to make a masculine card. My husband needed a 'thank you' card for a friend whose hospitality he enjoyed on a trip to New York State with his brother recently.
I paper-pieced the recliner. I love doing that, but don't often think of  it when I'm printing out my images. It's much easier to print the DP at the same time so that you don't have to guess what size the image is!

Inside: "Thanks for making me feel right at home!"

Images: "King for the Day" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Digital sentiment from TLC

Tools: Copics, MS Border punch, Glue dots

Papers: SU! Curry, Cocoa, and Olive CS, Neenah white, Paper Studio DP

Embellishments: Twine, Buttons

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

I've had this image colored for some time now, and just got around to making a card with it.
The little diamonds across the bottom are the negative pieces from a lattice die. That's proof that I save everything!

Images: "A, My Name is Alice" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Digital sentiment

Tools: Copics, Lattice die from Cheery Lynn, MS Butterfly and Hydrangea punches, SU! Oval punches, Tacky Tape

Papers: SU! Red, Pink, and Bashful Blue, Neenah white, SU! DP (Very old!)

Embellishments: Tiny pearl cabochons

*********************

I was in a red, white, and blue mood!

Images: "Waiting for the Parade" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Digital sentiment from TLC

Tools: Copics, White gel pen, Fine black marker, MS Border punches, Corner punch, Nellie Snellen embossing leaf punch set

Papers: SU! Red and Bashful Blue, Neenah white, Basic Grey DP

Embellishments: Flowers from WOC, Grosgrain ribbon

Well, that's it for this week! I hope you'll make something wonderful using an image from Mo and enter the challenge for a chance to win a $5.00 gift certificate from her shop!

So glad you stopped in!

Mo's Challenge # 149

Oskar is Distressed!

Distressing is the theme in Mo's Challenge this week. I find distressing to be a little tricky...you have to distress enough so that it looks intentional, but not so much that it looks as if the card has been through the wars! (Ooh! Look how dirty that is!) Sometimes we card-makers forget that the people who get these cards may not know that it was done on purpose! LOL!

I've used "Oskar" for my card 'cause I thought he already looked a bit distressed! I used mostly scraps from my ever-growing pile. Even the sentiment was one I did for another card, but ended up not using. The corrugated cardboard is from some packaging that I saved a while ago. The hanging watch charm is from an assorted package that I bought on sale years ago, and this is the first time I've used one of them! I've always liked the look of acrylic paint on cards and finally got around to trying it. Very messy, but I'll do it again!

Inside: "Happy Birthday...Ready or Not!"

Images: "Introducing Oskar" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Digital sentiment

Tools: Copics, Acrylic paint, Dimensional dots (a lot!), Tacky tape, Distressing tool, SU! Creamy Caramel ink pad (direct to paper technique)

Papers: SU! Kraft, Orange, Artichoke, Pumpkin, Neenah white, The Paper Studio DP, Scraps from Basic Grey and MME

I hope you'll stop in and check out the rest of the team for inspiration, and please join us with your distressed creation for a chance to win a gift certificate from Mo's store.

More Free Images!

I got these great images from Crafts on the Net, and I'm having so much fun with them! As I said last week  there are many on a sheet, and I don't find them easy to print out, but I think they're worth the effort.

I had this digital sentiment, and when I saw this image, I knew it would make a great anniversary card! I realized after I uploaded the photo that one of the tiny blue beads was missing from a flower center. I've since repaired it.

Inside: "Happy Anniversary to the purr-fect pair!"

Another Christmas card! This image is also from Crafts on the Net. I love the digital sentiment...reminds me of Ren and Stimpy! Remember his happy dance? I made the variegated holly by punching out two different sized leaves, gluing them together and embossing them with my Nellie Snellen leaf embossing punch. I trimmed down the larger white leaf. The swirl is an actual SU! stamp from the "Priceless" set.

Inside: "Hope your holidays are filled with big surprises!"

Thanks for stopping by! Check in again. I'll be having another small give-away
in the next week or so!
